Last year, pink phones were all the rage as mobile phone manufacturers sought to make variants of their phones more feminine to appeal more to women. I wrote a post listing the top ten pink phones of 2006, but given that that was over a year ago, I thought it a good idea to update the list for 2007.

So here then, are the ten top pink phones of 2007.

1). Samsung U600 Pink Phone

Samsung U600 pink phone
First on the list has to be the Samsung U600 in pink. The Samsung U600 is currently one of the most popular mobile phones on sale today, in part because of its great features, but mostly because of its designer looks and super-slim size – at just 10.9mm, the U600 is the world’s thinnest clamshell phone.

Being the canny company they are, Samsung have decided to offer a pink version of the U600, to soften its looks a bit and make it even more designer. You still get the great features it offers: 3.2 megapixel camera, email client, web browser, video recorder and player, music player, etc. (you can read our Samsung U600 review for the complete list of features) – but now, you get them in pink as well!

2). Nokia 6111 Pink Phone

Nokia 6111 pink phone
The Nokia 6111 has been around for a few months now, and has been available as a pink phone since its launch. The 6111 is not the world’s most full-featured phone – you only get a 1 megapixel camera, for example – but it does come with a few useful features such as email client, web browser and FM stereo radio.

Where the Nokia 6111 does score highly, though, is in the looks stage. I’ve been told by friends that it looks cute (it’s the rounded corners, apparently!), while the combination of dusky pink and silver only adds to its allure.

But best of all, it’s cheap!

3). LG Chocolate Pink phone

Pink chocolate? Whatever were LG thinking of?! The LG Chocolate range was a huge success for LG, and helped them capture the designer phone market from Motorola. It looks glorious, and even though its features aren’t particularly impressive, its looks alone have been enough for it to be snapped up by celebs keen on making a fashion statement.

And now that it’s available as a pink phone, the LG Chocolate becomes an even bigger fashion statement, shouting to the world that you have a luxurious designer phone and you don’t care who knows about it!

The LG Chocolate isn’t the newest pink phone on the market, but the good news is that because it’s been out for a while, there are some fantastic deals on it now.

4). Motorola MOTO-KRZR pink phone

Motorola KRZR pink phone

The Motorola RAZR was the mobile phone that single-handedly created the designer phone market. Now Motorola are seeking to recapture the ground they lost to LG with their new MOTO-KRZR phone. And, like most Motorola phones, the KRZR is also available as a pink phone.

Motorola have upped the features with the KRZR, packing in a 2 megapixel camera, MP3 player, video player, instant messaging and quad-band connectivity so that it can be used virtually anywhere across the world.

All this packaged in Motorola’s legendary RAZR-esque design, and spray painted lurid pink – how can you resist?!

5). Nokia N73 pink phone

OK, so not actually a pink phone, the Nokia N73 actually comes in plum – but that’s as closest as you’ll get to pink for Nokia’s N-Series!

Despite it not being pink, the Nokia N73 is packed full of features. 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio, MP3 player, video recorder, and email all add up to a cool looking phone (well, a plum-looking one anyway – you’ll have to decide whether it’s cool or not!) that offers every multimedia feature you could want from a phone.

6). Nokia 6085 pink phone

Nokia 6085 pink phone

Ah, now this one’s the real deal. The Nokia 6085 is a genuine pink phone, and it too has a good number of features (though not as much as the N73).

It’s quad-band for a start, meaning it’ll work anywhere across the world, and comes with Bluetooth, FM radio, MP3 player and camera.

Best of all, though, it’s cheap, as it started off as one of Nokia’s mid-range phones, but is now being heavily discounted.

Good looking, well specced, cheap and pink – what more could you want?!

7). Nokia E65 pink phone

Nokia E65 pink phone

Another pink phone that’s not actually pink, the Nokia E65 is nevertheless a smartphone that comes in red. Nokia’s E-series of mobile phones are their business-specific range of smartphones, so if you want a pink phone for work, the E65 could be for you.

Offering 3G plus quad-band connectivity, so it will literally work on virtually any network across the globe, the E65 comes with a 2 megapixel camera, MP3 player, and a host of office-based applications, including calendar, Web browser and email.

The Nokia N65 manages to pull off the neat trick of looking good while actually being useful at work. Better still, if you’re quick, it even comes with a free 26″ Samsung LCD TV!

8). Sony Ericsson K750i pink phone

Sony Ericsson K750i pink phone

Another pink phone that’s not actually pink, the Sony Ericsson 750i phone comes in red. Unfortunately, Sony Ericsson don’t seem to be selling pink phones at the moment, so red’s the best you’ll get.

The K750i is a tri-band phone with the usual set of excellent Sony Ericsson features: 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, email client, MP3 player, video player, even a video editor on board. What makes the K750i stand out, though, is the quality of the features it offers.

It camera, for example, is much better than your standard camera phone’s camera, as the K750i comes with auto-focus, meaning those photos you take hurredly in the pub won’t be all blurred. The MP3 comes with a graphic equalizer for excellent sound quality, and the K750i can even play 3D games.

In short, the Sony Ericsson K750i is a top class mobile phone, which is what you’d expect from Sony Ericsson – even if it doesn’t come in pink!

9). Samsung E900 pink phone

Samsung E900 pink phone

The last of the Samsung pink phones in this line up, the Samsung E900 is another well-specced Samsung phone that’s been given the true pink phone treatment. No red or plum for Samsung – it’s pink all the way!

The E900 comes with a 2 megapixel camera video recorder, and can even output the pictures and videos onto a TV. It’s a tri-band phone, so works in the US, and also comes with an MP3 player, email client and Web browser.

Most impressive of all is the deals that are currently on offer for the Samsung E900: buy one today and get a free PlayStation 3! You can’t do better than that!

10). Nokia 7373 Pink Phone

Nokia 7373 pink phone

Finally in this pink phone round-up, we come to the Nokia 7373, which must win the award for the girliest phone ever made! Not content with painting it soft pastel pink, Nokia gave the 7373 a rounded edge design and even swirly patterns on the front.

If it’s the ultimate girly-phone you’re after, the Nokia 7373 will fit the bill nicely.

The 7373 is a tri-band phone that comes with a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, MP3 player, Web browser and email client – but never mind all that, check out its pinkness!

Summary

So there you have it, 2007’s list of pink phones. I have to say the list this year is less than it was last year, so maybe the pink phones are losing their appeal. Other colours are making an appearance, with Sony Ericsson favouring purple with its Z710i, and Motorola seemingly offering every colour under the rainbow, so maybe the manufacturers are simply offering more colours than just pink.

If it’s a pink phone you’re after, though, this list represents the best combination of pink phones and prices (particularly with some of the deals that are on offer: free TV and PlayStation 3 can’t be sniffed at!) that are currently on offer.
