Also at CES 2007 today, Nokia announced their new Nokia N800 Internet tablet. A replacement for its previous Nokia 770 Internet tablet, the N800 has been branded as an N-Series phone, and so is therefore a multimedia computer. In fact, its more of a multimedia computer than the existing range of N-Series multimedia computers, which are, at the end of the day, just fancy phones!

This is more like it! No sooner had I posted out of focus leaked photos of the new Sony Ericsson Ai, much better pictures have emerged, showing the Ai in its shiny silver and brooding black finery. The keys are small, the phone is slim, and it looks set to challenge the LG Chocolate in the looks department.

More leaked pictures, this time from Sony Ericsson. The picture above shows the Sony Ericsson La and Ni (codenames at the moment), a Walkman phone and a CyberShot phone respectively. The Li will apparently be a low-end CyberShot phone, possibly called the Sony Ericsson K650i, and is expected to come with 2 megapixel camera, auto focus, and the same specs as the Sony Ericsson K800.

Nokia recently presented a couple of short videos at NokiaWorld 2006 that show off its designs for a fantastic new user interface. The ease with which the user is able to select various items on the screen and push them around with the flick of finger, sorting and collating as he goes, make you wonder why no-one thought of this type of interface before!

Concept Phones are great, as they show what designers can do when they don't have to worry about the mundane stuff, like actually fitting electronics into their designs. I mean, just ake alook at this: this is a new Sony Ericsson CyberShot concept phone that looks simply breathtaking. As slim as a credit card with a 3.2 megapixel camera, sleek slider design, and OLED touch sensitive keypad, this is a phone that would sell by the bucket load.

A few days ago, the Nokia N97 was the latest rumour to do the rounds, and it looked and sounded great. Maybe a little too great. Unfortunately, it wasn't real - it was just an 'idea' posted in Nokia's forum that leaked out into the ever-twitchy blogosphere, where great pictures and even greater hype soon take over a post's true origins.

LG have shown that while chocolate might be bad for you, the LG Chocolate is extremely good for a high-tech mobile phone company seeking to turn a loss into a profit. Celebrating the first year of the launch of the LG Chocolate, the company announced the world consumed 6 million LG Chocolate designer phones in 2006, with 3 million sold in the last two and a half months alone.Better still, the company predicts sales will reach 10 million in the first half of next year.

Not content with the amazing Nokia N95 announced recently, Nokia may have another treat lined up for us in the shape of the Nokia N97. Another all-singing all-dancing multimedia computer, rumour has it that the Nokia N97 will come with a 20GB hard disk, 5 megapixel camera (which looks to be the new standard fro Nokia's 2007 N-Series phones), and a class-leading 3 inch LCD screen.
